The nature
Here in Dals Rostock there are many hikes, trails, nature tracks and walking loops suitable for amateurs as well as professionals, young and old, running enthusiasts, cyclists and those who want to take a dog walk. Kroppefjälls Vildmarksområde wilderness area offers picture-perfect scenery, verdant forest, stunning views and lots of ponds and lakes in which to take a dip. You have the option of a guided walking or cycling tour arranged through Kroppefjäll B&B, access to maps or simply signs in the forest to follow. You can really get close to nature here.
The Community
Dals Rostock is a living community with 900 residents within Mellerud Municipality. There is a general store, pre-school, school and a rich cultural life. In addition to the many active entrepreneurs and committed associations of course. There are many traditions such as the Blueberry jog for pre-schoolers, Christmas market, Midsummer celebrations and Art trails. In 2021 the Dals Rostock Site Development project began, which involves large sections of the community and in autumn 2022 a financial association was started to support future work. In Dals Rostock we protect our history at the same time as we are constantly moving forward with a vision of a place that many want to visit, live and work in. A vibrant and well cared for community that is safe, accessible and inclusive.
A historic place
Dating back a hundred years, Dals Rostock has been a place to which people came to feel better. People travelled long distances to partake of the healing spring waters in Brunnsparken, and the well still stands today. The house at Kroppefjäll was built in 1911 as a sanatorium where those with lung diseases were brought to promote health from within, as there was no medicine in those days. It was said that the fresh air was healing, and that is something reflected in the business, now called Kroppefjäll B&B, even today.
